Class Schedule:
Welcome
Welcome to English class! I am so excited to be teaching this course this semester and helping all of my students (and hopefully parents too) more aware of literature in the world today and its cultural implications. I hope you will take some time to get to know a little bit about me and will feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or questions. My contact information is available at the bottom of every page! I respond to emails regularly but do not mind being called as long as it is before 9pm.
This website serves as a centralized location for my class resources. Students can use this website to communicate with me, find links to the webpages referenced in class as well as find out what assignments are coming up. There will also be a place to turn in homework that is done digitally, class projects and papers.
For parents, this webpage provides some background on me as well as keeps you up to date with what is going on class and what assignments will be due soon.
For other teachers, I will provide links to resources I find helpful for our profession as well as upload some of my lesson plans that you might find helpful.

The Great Gatsby
By F. Scott Fitzgerald
A novel exploring the benefits and drawbacks of wealth, this novel depicts the life of a man who desires nothing more than to relive the past with the love of his life. But can we ever truly relive the past? Can Gatsby truly be great?
Read this book to explore the world of the roaring 20's and a scandalous love story.

“When I look back, I am so impressed again with the life-giving power of literature. If I were a young person today, trying to gain a sense of myself in the world, I would do that again by reading, just as I did when I was young.”
