A little bit about me!

I am a Wake Forest graduate and I am proud to be a Demon Deacon. I have always enjoyed books and reading, so being an English Major in college was a natural fit for me. I love watching football and was a member of the marching band in college. I make try to use my connections to music and performing arts in my English classroom to show students how different art forms intersect.

Favorite color: Turquoise

Favorite Book: "Les Miserables"

Favorite piece of music: "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" - Whitney Houston

Favorite genre - Historical fiction/ Mystery

My professional career started as a substitute teacher during my breaks in college, it was a challenge but has helped prepare me for my classroom today. I have also worked with North Carolina Governor's School East as an Activities Counselor for two summers then as an office associate and have been able to see the difference that alternative forms of education can make on students lives. I came to EGHS last year and love being a Wildcat!

I would love to get to know all of you throughout the year so if you would like to set up a time to meet with me, send me an email at rectork@gcsnc.com.
